Chapter 7 - Road Trip

Sinah's House, 2:12pm
"Don't worry mom. I'll only be gone for about a week. I'll be back," Sinah was telling his mom as he hugged her. "Idiot. You're just like your father. That was the last thing he said to me." Sinah sighed, "But I'm different mom. I'm stronger." His mother shook her head, "Just come back safely okay?" Sinah smiled and nodded.

-----

He packed a bunch of clothes. And while he was at it, put on a new shirt. "Brooother!" He sister called. She came running into his room. "Whatcha doing?" Sinah smiled at his sister, "I'm packing for a trip." "Can I come?" Sinah sighed, "No you can't, it's work related and dangerous."

His sister picked up a pencil off his desk and took a pose, swinging her arm up and down, "Haya! Yah! See! I can fight too!" Sinah laughed, he was really going away for awhile.

-----

"Ready for departure Sinah?" Hahn said as he waited at the end of the Landrover. "All ready captain!" Sinah said with a grin. Hahn laughed, "That's the spirit! Ben, will you assist us?" Sinah forgot Ben helped escort him here. Ben shrugged and said, "Not sure, I need to train." A grim voice spoke within the Landrover, "You sure Ben?" Ben relaxed, "Alright, I'll come along Gryz."

Ben and Sinah both approached the Landrover. "Why so depressed Sinah?" a familiar voice said. "Umm... Guess you could say I hate training hard." The voice laughed, "Now, that's not the guy I grew up with." Sinah laughed in return, "And you're not the type to worry about me either Vince. So, what are you doing here anyway?" "I've come to train with you guys as well. My mentor Chaz told me it is always best to train with friends or some bull like that." Everyone laughed.

"Well, I suppose we should get going," Sinah said smiling. Vince cleared his throat and said, "I think you're forgetting someone Sinah." "Eh?" replied Sinah turning towards the entrance. WHAM! Sinah was punched in the face. It hurt, it really hurt. "Ah what the-" Sinah began to say.

"You know Sinah! You really shouldn't run away when you are in that bad condition, especially when someone is taking care of you!" Nikki said looking demonic. Sinah tensed.

"Well?! What do you have to say for yourself Sinah?" Nikki demanded. Sinah gave it a small thought then grinned and said, "Surprise Kiss!" "Wha-" Nikki began to say before Sinah met her lips with his. He backed up, still grinning. Nikki's face was red from blushing and said, "W-what the hell was that for?!" "Think of it as a thank-you!" Replied Sinah.

"Y-you shouldn't suddenly kiss someone like that!" Nikki yelled back. Sinah's grin got a bit wider, "Hey, I warned you didn't I?" Nikki stormed off into the Landrover. Sinah's grin faded, "Was it something I said?" Vince smacked Sinah on the back, "Today you enter manhood." Sinah looked at his friend and gave him a look that said *. With that everyone entered the Landrover.

Motavia Field, 4:37 PM

Sinah sat across from Gryz. He had never seen a Motavian before so it was exciting, yet it was frightening all at the same time. "What are you staring at?" Gryz finally spoke, his grim voice echoing in the Landrover. Sinah replied, "W-well you see. I've never actually seen a Motavian before, and well-" "Don't worry I won't eat you," Gryz looked into Sinah's eyes, "Yet." Sinah tensed.

"Don't worry, he's only joking. Sinah right?" A blonde haired man said. "Ah yes sir," Replied Sinah. "You're pretty polite. May I?" the man said, gesturing his hand beside an empty seat by Sinah. Sinah nodded. Sitting, the man sat down. "I heard what happened to you. Are you scared?" "A little," Sinah replied. "I know how that is. I was scared too on my first mission as a hunter. It was just a small-time job. But it led to much more gradually. I met friends, lost some, and I always wondered 'why is this happening to me?'" Sinah was being moved by the man's words. "It was a struggle that led me to many new places. And despite everything that happened. I never quit." Sinah understood how this man felt, though he didn't think entirely.

"Looks Sinah, just promise me one thing," the man said. "What is that?" Sinah replied. "Don't ever give up." Sinah nodded as the man stood up and began walking to the cockpit. "Oh wait!" Sinah spoke up, "What is your name?" The man smiled and said, "Chaz Ashley. Veteran Hunter." With that, Chaz disappeared into the cockpit.

Wait, Chaz Ashley? The Chaz Ashley? Sinah thought. You see, Chaz was one of the reasons why Sinah wanted to become a hunter. Chaz was his hero. I'm really excited! I'm riding in the same vehicle as Chaz Ashley!

Well, he's probably a busy man. So I'll leave him alone. Though I did kind of make Nikki mad. Hmm. I wonder where she is. Sinah stood, taking with him two cans of Dezo-Cola. He found Nikki at the end, sitting beside Ben. The two of them were talking. Well, here goes nothing.

"Umm. Hey Nikki," Sinah said putting on an innocent smile. Nikki just turned red and looked away. "I just uhh. Wanted to apologize about kissing you so suddenly like that. I knew it was wrong but I-" Sinah paused, closing his eyes, "I guess no girl has cared that much about me and well, I guess I wasn't sure how to pay you back so I just-" "Kissed her," Ben interrupted. Sinah looked at Ben and nodded. He placed on of the cans beside Nikki and opened one for himself, taking a sip as he returned to his seat. It was going to be a long trip.

"So, how'd it go?" Vince questioned Sinah. "It went," Sinah replied not looking at Vince, "I don't feel too well. I think I need some rest." Vince looked around, "You know. I think I saw a bed over by the cockpit. Why don't you check it out?"

"Yeah, I think I'll check out that bed then," Sinah said as he made his way over to the cockpit. Laying down, he closed his eyes. Sleep is probably the best thing. Just as he started to drift off, he heard voices.

"You know Ben. I have to say that I'm pretty annoyed with Vincent for trying to get me and Sinah hooked up with each other," A feminine voice said. "Why's that?" Replied Ben. "I guess you could say I found him too immature and naive for my liking." Ben laughed. "But I have to say that when he rescued me from Target I was glad. I see him more as a man I could be with." "Ben gave another chuckle, "Well, I have to say he does have guts. Mostly because of his condition we he decided to show up to fight me." Nikki replied, "Yeah, he does have guts. After all his kiss. That was my first one." "No wonder you got mad at him," A third voice said, "But you know, he is one of those people that surprises you at the last moment."

"Oh, Vincent," Nikki said. "Vince is fine. I just came over here to ask you guys two things. The first one being, Should we tell Chaz and the others about Target? Second, do we stay with Sinah or not? After all, hanging around Sinah will be dangerous."

Sinah was forcing himself to stay awake and wait for their answers. He heard a voice, it was Nikki, "Well, I am already involved with Target, so I should stay, shouldn't I?" Knowing Vince, Sinah could just imagine him nodding his head. He then heard Vince, "Well, I'm his best friend. I-" Sinah couldn't make out anymore words. Before he knew it. He drifted off into his dreams.
