Today I got what I consider to be a pretty darn great deal. While I did enjoy playing EVO: Search for Eden earlier this year, the fact that the final boss is basically unbeatable due to a few flawed mechanics was very frustrating and unfortunately, diminished the game as a whole for me. On top of that, a few later bosses were also frustrating for the wrong reasons (challenge is fine, but challenge due to faulty mechanics...ehhh....). As I'm not a collector, I decided to see what our local retro game store would give me for it as I probably wouldn't be playing it again. I went in with the game...and walked out without the game and instead a used but well cared for 3DS XL Pokemon X and Y Red edition (and as I discovered later, a 4 gig SD card still in it), a charger, a nice case, Okamiden and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (let it be known that the last time I played a Pokemon game was probably the original, on a friend's Game Boy for a few minutes way back in the 90s). However, as that store wasn't accepting more recent games, we then went to Gamestop where I know I can turn them in. I got more for what I had than I thought I would, enough to cut the price of the 3DS Smash Bros (new copy) in half. Setting up the 3DS gave me plenty to do this evening.
I also took advantage of some Steam discounts this week and got Payday 2 and all the Risen games.
