Favorite handheld system?

Postby Thoul » Mon Apr 30, '07, 6:19 pm

What's your favorite portable game system?

My pick is the Game Boy, but honestly it's about the only handheld system I've ever had.

I did play a lot of Tetris on my calculator years ago, though.

Probably the Game Boy as well for me if we are talking all time. My current favorite is probably the DS though.

I went for the Game Boy as well. If I ever owned a Nomad, I probably would have gone for that, since it plays Genesis games.

I vote Nintendo :3

It's just done so well over the years, and with the DS, I can clearly see Nintendo still know what they're doing.

:? I didn't notice that DS and Gameboy were separate.

Well, my vote goes for Nintendo handhelds in general anyway.

I picked the game boy too, I remember how happy I was when I first got mine.
I also had a game gear, awesome thing, but such a battery eater.

The DS right now is my favorite thing at the moment! :D

I agree @.@ My first was a game boy pocket.. I had it for a loooong time.. :D

Wasn't it just! :blank: But.. with good reason.. that colour screen, that was also bright enough to view without a light on! Definitely a one up on the game boy of the time.
Though... I seem to recall it doing quite badly..

Nintendo was king back in the day, so the Game Gear didn't get a lot of the best games that it could have.

I always wanted a Nomad. I never got one, but at the time I thought it had the most potential for a handheld.

I adored my GBA once I bought some rechargeable batteries! :D There were so many great RPG or Strategy titles for it, like the PS Collection, the Fire Emblem series, and even those older FF remakes. All those games secure my vote with the GBA.

I loved my Game Gear back in the day and the Master System upgrade that let you play PSI on the road, but I only liked one other game: Defenders of Oasis, an excellent RPG set in the ancient Middle East. But like Atolm said, battery muncher!!!

I had some fun with my TI-85 graphing calculator during Study Hall in High School because my brother created a great PS style RPG for it. Too bad there weren't any other games for it...

I've been looking into the DS and PSP, but I haven't found enough interesting titles to buy one.

My family got so tired of the batteries dying that we ended up with a battery charger, saved much money in the long run!
