One of the first cutscenes in Phantasy Star III introduces Maia, the mysterious bride of Rhys. She was discovered, by Rhys, washed ashore on a beach near Landen. She had no memory of her past. This cutscene is one of the few in the game that is animated. As shown in this image, the tide of Landen's ocean laps at the beach where the unconscious Maia awaits discovery.

I assembled this animation from screenshots of the game over 10 years ago. It is a real blast from the past for me.
