After finding the citizens of Zema turned to stone, Alys suggests to Chaz and Hahn that they should travel to the Motavian village of Molcum. Long ago, she heard of a medicine called Alshline in that village. Supposedly, this medicine can cure such an affliction. When the trio arrive in Molcum, they discover this scene. The entire town has been burned to the ground. A man in a white cloak stands in the center. Alys immediately recognizes him as her old friend, Rune Walsh.
