When Professor Holt's research team failed to make contact, the principal of Motavia's Academy decided to organize a rescue team to check up on the first group. As soon as he begun, however, a mysterious figure in black armor appeared before him. In this flashback to that time, Phantasy Star IV gives the first look at Zio, who introduces himself as the "black magician." He cuts an imposing figure in his massive armor.
