Back in the day, game manuals included instructions on how to care for your newly acquired cartridges. Manual designers, at least those in Japan, had some fun with this by including colorful illustrations indicating what owners should not do to the games.

Rune and Kyra are getting in on the action for this Phantasy Star IV booklet illustration. Extreme temperatures are not good for many electronics, especially those from the 1990s. The pair of Espers demonstrate this by casting a freezing Wat and a burning Foi technique. The poor cartridge can't take this kind of stress! Demi is trying to stay out of their way also, but has to get that little "X" sign up at the bottom.
