If you live in America, are you going to see the eclipse? It will happen this month. 8/21/17 in the morning. It will go from Oregon to South Carolina. And in one spot for about 2.5 minutes, the sky will be dark and filled with stars. Yet the sun's firey ring will still be visible. :)

Sadly, I won't be able to see it because I live about 10 hours south of the totality. And it will happen on a workday no less. :(

I hope we get to see some of it. I read awhile back that it is supposed to go right over us in our area, but don't know if that is correct or not. Everyone is talking about it. I really haven't thought much about it yet, but probably will learn more as the time gets nearer. I have heard of solar eclipse parties and other weird stuff, lol.

Word of warning though, if you plan to look at it, be sure and get the correct glasses for your eyes, etc.

Yeah, it will hit the US and no other country. But like I said, I won't get to see it because it's a 10 hour drive from the path of totality, and on a monday. :( I'll be lucky if I get to see a partial at all. But it's never as awesome as a total.

It's only going to be at about 70% magnitude up here in Massachusetts, so that's a sadness. Like I can't travel, I know that much, all the caveats of work day and that apply. But I may still try to see if I can see it, even if it's only partial magnitude where I'll be.

Heard something on the news today regarding the solar eclipse that I had not thought of or heard before. It was regarding people or companies, etc., that use solar power and what kind of precautions they are taking during this total eclipse when the sun will be totally black and thereby limiting solar power somewhat. Since the eclipse will only be for a few seconds or minutes or so, it should cause little trouble hopefully. Still, that is one aspect of this event that had not occurred to me.

Yes, for the people using solar energy, a total eclipse could be a loss or something like that ! :)

Speaking of solar power, although it does not really have anything to do with the solar eclipse, but I also heard on the news today that the new football stadium for the Atlanta Falcons has about 4000 solar panels in it, I believe is the number. So, it seems they are going the solar power route and hope to use solar power energy in some signs and things at the new stadium, etc. Solar power seems to be more popular than ever these days.
