Who do you think is the best character in Phantasy Star 2 ?

Rolf. He displays huge courage, never complains, never gets down despite the odds. Such courage grows and his plight makes others want to join him on his journey, even if it is a fatal journey. How many 20 year olds can you say display that?

I'm gonna say Nei. Not only because of all my fond memories of her, but it takes some real courage to be willing to follow Rolf/Eusis on such a dangerous quest, being fully aware it'll end with her demise.

In addition, it really inspires me how she is willing to forgive the humans who wronged her when she was a child. Her face during Darum's death scene in the remake really shows that she's horrified and sad he met his demise like that.

She really inspired me as a kid, anyway.

Anna. A personality full of fire (at least in my interpretation of her), beautiful, unique and cool weapons (at least slashers were unique when they debuted in PS II), a touch of mystery and in my opinion a great love interest to Rolf/Eusis as well, even though there never really was a romantic story in PS II.

I like all the characters in Phantasy Star II for different reasons, some of which are listed above by others, but Shir really stands out for me. What's not to love about a quirky thief that somewhat barges her way in and out of the party and then shows up later like nothing happened?

Huey/Hugh for me.

He was a Science geek, definitely not built for battle, and yet he joins the fight without thinking about all the times he will have painful and horrible deaths.
