Don't worry; won't pry further. I can't talk about my Army stuff, either.

Ayeah it was a major pain. I saw doctors, nurses, dentists, had blood taken, things examind and soem of the tests I did before joining were redone as well. What a long day
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:21 am
nah, it's alright. You were just asking. :) Though what happened in that time is really something not suited for a public forum.

That really was an all day event. I got an upper respiratory infection in Basic, spent the day waiting for some pills. I would have preferred being in training that day.
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:20 am
Oh god, the infirmary in Basic.
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:19 am
Ah cool! Sorry for prying. I worked with a few Royal Air Force peeps back in the day. A few Canadian Armed Forces folks, too.

Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:18 am
The joys of spending the whole day hanging around the med centre during basic. I forget how many people I saw and how many tests I did.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:18 am
I was a few years ago, yes.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:16 am
So you're a military man, huh?
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:15 am
Those gleaming syringes were kind of freaky looking though
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:11 am
But then considering I once got a painless injection in my mouth, I think it's safe to say there was no shaking
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:10 am
haha. :D I don't remember any old dentists in my time, though the masks may ahve made it hard to tell as well
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:09 am
See, I'll happily pay for dentistry, because the military dentist scared the living crap out of me. They were all about 70 years old and shaky and just... not good.
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:07 am
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:06 am
No, not an actual god of dentistry :p
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:05 am
dentistry, god!
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:04 am
needed* (!)
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:04 am
Ah yes, the military do provide a good system. While I never need more than a couple of small things done, I loved not paying for detistry. :D
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:04 am
That sounds like our military healthcare system. I daresay if the healthcare system goes universal here it'll be a lot like what I remember from my Army days.

Fri Jul 9, '10, 6:02 am
Ah, my bad, I should have mentioned it was France. No, here we have very few pharmacies, mainly because the NHS is free and you only go to a pharmacy to buy medicine and colelct prescriptions.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:59 am
Ohhh. Got it. Sorry for the misunderstanding, France!
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:58 am
Oh no, perfectly legal. I think it's the way their healthcare system works. A lot of it is high street based.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:57 am
They do? Or, wait. Are we talking the illegal kind?
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:56 am
Well that's always handy. It looks like a pretty snazzy place too. I don't know about 24 hour pharmacies, but I *do* know that most of the streets in Paris have 24 pharmaacies on them! :D
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:52 am
I work near Wash, DC. There's quite a few all-night places. There's even a 24-hour pharmacy nearby, which is nice.
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:50 am
It's a really good restaurant, too: http://www.amphoragroup.com/
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:50 am
We have supermarkets that sometimes open for 24 hours, but that's about it.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:49 am
All night diners eh? No such thing to be found around here.
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:48 am
Ha! I guess that is a problem. I'm currently around the corner from an all-night diner, but I should probably eat what I have here.
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:47 am
could actually go a pizza now, if it wasn't coming up for 6am. :D
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:45 am
Blech. I don't get the love for cold pizza. The taco was limp. Threw it away. Now on the prowl for better food. Thinking noodles. Posting without pronouns. ;)
Tanith
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:41 am
Yuck! Still, i'm less keen on cold pizza. Nasty. :o
Xander
Fri Jul 9, '10, 5:37 am
Lukewarm Taco Bell taco = Gross. I need some real food.
