Biography
The form of currency used in Phantasy Star is Meseta, often shortened to MST. It has been used in every game in the series where money changes hands, regardless of the setting or time period in which game events take place. The origins of Meseta are unknown.
Meseta is most often obtained by slaying enemies, leading many fans to wonder why monsters and wild animals would be carrying money. Another way to obtain Meseta was introduced in Phantasy Star IV: the Hunter's Guild. Hunters are mercenaries that take on a variety of missions in exchange for Meseta. Missions can involve anything from finding a lost pet to rescuing children to monster exterminations.
