Phantasy Star

The story begins here, with the introduction of the Algo Solar System and it's inhabitants. Scattered across three planets, the peoples of Algo are oppressed by an evil king who has fallen into the service of dark powers. A young woman named Alis takes up the quest to dethrone the king and avenge her brother's death, encountering unexpected friends and threats along the way.

Remakes

Sega has released two official remakes of Phantasy Star. Each remake contains enhanced graphics and other features, such as built-in dungeon maps.

Release Information

Phantasy Star was originally released in December 1987 for the Sega Master System. Over the years, it has been published again as a reprint for the Sega MegaDrive and in Phantasy Star Collection for Sega Saturn and Game Boy Advance and Phantasy Star Complete Collection for PlayStation 2. Full remakes, listed above, have also been created. Aside from the Game Boy Advance release, all of these were available only in Japan.
