In a bit of cross promotion, the inner front cover flap of the The World of Phantasy Star dust jacket advertises player's guide books for the Japanese releases of the major classic Phantasy Star games. There are two guides pictured for Phantasy Star II and, fittingly, three guides for Phantasy Star III. At the bottom, a then upcoming player's guide for Phantasy Star IV is revealed and slated for a December 17, 1993 release date. This was probably not the final cover of that guide, but sharing artwork with the actual game box would help consumers locate the book.
