When playing Phantasy Star IV, have you ever waited at the title screen, instead of pressing start, to see if anything might be displayed in a few moments? If not, give it a try next time you play. This scene will be shown as a backdrop to an introduction covering the current state of Algo. It is from this scene that we know 90% of Algo's population died following the destruction of Mother Brain, as well as other details of the Great Collapse. I'm not sure which planet this is supposed to be, but there is a lot of debris from Palma visible here.
