As the principal of Motavia's Academy began to plan a rescue mission to locate the missing Professor Holt, Zio the black magician appeared to dissuade him from that course of action. As part of his threat, Zio revealed the fate of Holt's team to the principal by displaying one of the team members - turned to stone, as if he had gazed on the face of the legendary monster Medusa. Although Zio did not directly threaten the principal, it was very clear that this fate awaited anyone else that entered Birth Valley and the principal himself if he sent anyone there.
