This is a Xanafalgue, one of the strange creatures that has suddenly begun to infest the basement of the Academy. You cannot tell from this static scene, but in battle the bulbous upper portions pulse like a beating heart, while the blue "antennas" on the underside writhe wildly. These disgusting looking things are what Alys and Chaz were hired to exterminate. The only thing worse is the Zoran Bult, which looks like two of these joined at the hip like some freak science experiment gone wrong.
