In this, Phantasy Star IV's first real close up of Alys and Chaz, they are meeting the principal of Piata's academy. He recognizes them as "Alys, the hunter" and "her assistant, Chaz." Alys is quick to correct him on that - Chaz is now her full-fledged partner! She had been training the younger Hunter previously, but as of this mission he is no longer an assistant. That doesn't mean his training is over yet. His swing is still too slow, after all.
