When Sonic Team tackled a mobile phone version of Phantasy Star, they decided to give the game an entirely new set of graphics. The new design definitely keeps the spirit of the original game with bright, vivid colors similar to those found in the Master System version. In some ways, the new graphics may actually be more detailed as well. Looking at an enlarged version of this town screenshot shows new details on some buildings.
