This animation I created some years ago depicts one of Neifirst's deadly attacks. At first, the attack is reminiscent of a light saber as a shaft of energy appears from her hand. This would not be the first Star Wars reference in Phantasy Star. Instead of slashing with the energy like a sword, however, she throws it at her opponents. The giant floating version of her head calls to mind the only other battle that uses a floating head above the boss: Zio in Phantasy Star IV. In his case however, the floating head was Dark Force. Perhaps Neifirst is also drawing power from a more malevolent entity, similar to Zio?
