This is the most basic head protection available for most characters in Phantasy Star II. This Head Gear item - which looks more like a collar of some kind, if you ask me - is probably meant to work as a headband. Rolf already wears a decorative headband, however, so it is unclear as to how that is going to work for him. Does he wear a headband over his headband? Strangely enough, this one might match the blue of his uniform better than the pale color of his typical headband.

Nei is the only character spared from having to wear this item. It does not look very heavy or restrictive, so perhaps it did not fit well due to her elongated ears.
