This long trenchcoat is an early armor available for the men in Phantasy Star II. It clearly covers more than a Fiber Vest or Carbon Suit, undoubtedly providing superior protection in close quarters combat. There are no more advanced coats in the game; the next step up the ladder of body protection is actual armor, rather than reinforced every day items. And of course, this is in blue - definitely Rolf's color. We can only wonder if coats of other colors were available for Rudo, Hugh and Kain.
