Sharp-Shinned Hawk

Been a while since I did one of these. I blame work+class+PS3 for robbing most of my time.

Anyway, this is a Sharp Shinned Hawk, a species of small hawk that hunts other birds. They're cool little guys as in the fall and winter months, they are frequent visitors to suburban bird feeders since all the birds that don't migrate congregate at feeders. So a bird feeder is like a buffet to a sharp-shinned. This was a hard one...getting wing mottling and stripes to look good is very difficult. I think I pulled it off okay, but could definitely stand some work on it. After all, the only way you get better is challenging yourself, right?
