This page of storyboards from Phantasy Star IV covers quite a bit of the game. It starts with the discovery of the crashed ship from the exodus of Palma, where Rika explains to Chaz and Alys that survivors escaped in ships like the Alisa III from Phantasy Star III. The next board jumps to the top of Zio's tower, with an aborted drawing of his captive. That's followed by a complete sketch of the captured Demi. The unfinished drawing gives the captive elf-like ears. Could it be that the writers originally planned for Rika to be captured by Zio, rather than Demi? The final storyboards on this page plot Zio's introduction and the fatal blow to Alys.
