One of Phantasy Star III's four endings has the ship sucked through a black hole. Instead of being crushed by the intensive gravity common to that phenomena, the ship is thrown across space and time. Once on the other side, the ship sets course for a familiar blue planet - Earth. This surprise twist no doubt had greater impact for fans that had played Phantasy Star II previously, given the surprise villains in that game.
