To assist players in finding their way through the game, the Japanese release of Phantasy Star IV included a poster featuring this map of planet Motavia. On the poster, the map is is framed and marks the names and locations of towns. Dungeons and caves are also marked, but not named. The reverse side of the poster listed the names and effects of techniques and skills. Pictures of the actual poster are also included in the Phantasy Star Complete Collection gallery for the game, but this view of the artwork alone is more clear and slightly larger thanks to the lack of the framing design. Sadly, no such poster was included with other releases of the game. That list of spells would have been quite helpful to many English players.
