Image of the Day - August 06, 2011

Back in the day, game manuals included instructions on how to care for your newly acquired cartridges. Manual designers, at least those in Japan, had some fun with this by including colorful illustrations indicating what owners should not do to the games.

The mechanical lifeforms aboard the Alisa III can survive and operate in extreme temperatures. Wren, as we see courtesy of the Phantasy Star III manual, has no problem getting along in the arid, blistering heat of Aridia's desert. This wandering game cartridge he has encountered is not so well designed. It cannot take the stress of surviving in such heat. This must be the real story of what happened to Miun: she was constructed using parts from a game cartridge! :p
