Back in the day, game manuals included instructions on how to care for your newly acquired cartridges. Manual designers, at least those in Japan, had some fun with this by including colorful illustrations indicating what owners should not do to the games.
This illustration is the first used in the Phantasy Star III manual's care instruction pages. Rhys and Mieu both seem very eager to learn about the proper care of the new cartridge, don't they? Let's hope their friends, who are featured in other art from these pages, are equally ready to learn.
