In these character designs, the practice drawings of Rune Walsh's head are at last based on the his final design used for Phantasy Star IV, instead of the early turtleneck look. On the right, we see a younger version of Rune, from the days of his travels with a young Alys and their mentor, Galf. They traveled together for four years during Rune's sojourn on Motavia as part of his Lutz training.
