When plotting the cutscenes of Phantasy Star IV, the staff at Sega drew references by hand before creating them as 16-bit, sprite based gaming graphics on a computer. In this example, we can see Wren, sitting in the pilot seat of the Landale, as he speaks to Rika. Rika herself is also present, although this sketch does not appear to match any related cutscene from the game's ending.
