Under Lashiec's reign of terror, monsters have spread far and wide across Palma. To "protect" the people of Camineet and Scion, guards are stationed at every entrance to the twin cities and their common spaceport. In Phantasy Star, the guards were famously influenced by Imperial Stormtroopers from the Star Wars films. For Phantasy Star - Deluxe Edition, they have been redesigned. There is still a touch of Stormtrooper influence, but they look more like Cylons from the original Battlestar Galactica television series now.
