When visiting the governor of Motavia, Alis and her friends spend the night at his mansion. While slumbering, they are assaulted in their dreams by this evil visage that will later become the dreaded Dark Falz. While it was called "Saccubus" in Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star - Deluxe Edition internally references it by the name used in Phantasy Star IV, "Nightmare."
