One of the staple monster families of the Phantasy Star series is that of the Chaos Sorcerer. This version, usually named simply Sorcerer, is called by the longer name in the internal workings of Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition. These powerful magicians have something in common for most of their designs: they usually wear gas masks, as seen here. The reason has never been revealed, but perhaps they are unable to breathe the atmosphere needed for human survival. Such a thing would hint at a truly alien origin.
