Strong centaur type enemies have become a staple of the Phantasy Star series, returning for nearly every major installment. The very first to appear were these, however: the Horsemen, armored soldiers of Lassic. The sword they carried in Phantasy Star has been traded in for a lance like the one carried in Phantasy Star Online. Their deadly use of the Fire spell for a double attack may make them one of the most dangerous centaur enemies as well. Ironically, this very image is internally named as "centaur," even though the golden variation of this monster is the one actually named "Centaur."
