Nial and Laya, after marrying, made their home in the castle of Landen. This fortress is the ancestral home of Nial's family. It has stood for an unknown number of years, but may have even been used by Nial's distant ancestor, Orakio, 1,000 years earlier. On this day, the castle has suffered massive damage from an extremely strong quake. With bits of the ceilings littered on the floor below and the supporting columns cracked from head to toe, the castle will likely be unsafe for future habitation. Nial and Laya, worried that whatever caused this will endanger all of the Alisa III, send their children - with Mieu and Wren - out to investigate.
