The first pages of Phantasy Star Collection kick off this art collection with a classic theme. The book opens with a cropped version of the box artwork for the original Japan release of Phantasy Star. While the cut is slightly different, the cover artwork for Mega Drive release of the game was shortened at a very similar point.
