As he pilots the Landale, Wren understands that Rika has decided to remain on Motavia, rather than return to Zelan. He tells Rika that she is the hope of himself and Demi, their hope for the survival of the humans in Algo. Wren expects the life she is choosing to be painful and hard, but hopes she will live it well. He seems very much like a father figure in this scene.
