Winter likes and dislikes

What do you like and dislike about the winter season?

I like the early cooling from the warmer weather, snow, and curling up under a nice warm blanket.

I don't like sleet and hail. My right hand also tends to dry up very easily, sometimes cracking and even bleeding a little.

I like seeing the snow fall, when we have it.
I like seeing all the birds come to feed on our birdfeeders, and there are lots of them too.
I like seeing the squirrels dashing around for food and nuts to store through the winter and extra leaves to fix their nests.
I like Thanksgiving and Christmas, both in winter.
I like snow ice cream.

I don't like the cold - I usually freeze a lot.
I don't like a cold rain - brrrr!
I don't like all the mess and trouble a big snow can sometimes bring.
I don't like having to stay inside and be couped up all winter long - it's too cold outside.

All I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are more dislikes.

I love winter. Theres nothing bad about it down here in the flaming hot desert. Never goes lower than 40 unless we get lucky. Always goes up to about 130 maybe more. It gets so hot here, winter is such a relief.
Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

I try to find things to like about every season, but of course, there's things I dislike about all of them too. And with winter, the only thing I don't really care for much are those really cold days when it's also windy. As campus is perched on a hill five miles from the shore of Lake Erie, we're getting pretty strong winds off the lake a lot of the time. Those winds get awfully biting during cold winter days.
