I agree with you, it will surely get bundled with Skyward Sword. In the past, every time a big first party title was released on a Nintendo console that asked for a special peripheral, it was always bundled with it (I'm guessing not everyone have bought Wii Sport Resort now). So I don't think it will change. We'll defenitely get what we need with Zelda.

I can't say I'm surprised by this announcement, since the Wii's motion technology is about to get some competition from Microsoft and Sony. I've already heard reports that the PlayStation Move is more responsive than Wiimote (however, I'm unsure if this was with or without MotionPlus). The big difference right now is that the PlayStation Move isn't really worth the expensive investment until they release more compatible games, but once they do, it's going to give Nintendo a run for its money. Thankfully Move is an add-on and you don't have to buy an entirely new console.

I don't know much about the Xbox Kinect yet. Everything Microsoft produces, though, seems to be made out of platinum and rubies, so I can only imagine it'll be most expensive of the bunch.

It seems the new controller is being released November 11 in Japan. Nintendo is going to begin including it with new Wii systems and selling it separately for around $46 US.

There's also going to be a red Wii RemotePlus and a new red nunchuck. The red controls are going to be included with a special red Wii as part of the Mario anniversary push and sold individually.

Yeah... they may change the price when it finally sees US release. I think the regular remote is around $40 though, so I wouldn't expect it to fall too far.

Oh, yeah. You're right; sometimes I forget how expensive even the regular remotes are because it's been a while since I purchased one.

Once again I see this as being something that will have huge support in Japan and only minor attention in the West. Anyone remember the Genesis Keyboard or all the SNES addons that never made it to the West?

The official US price for the Wii RemotePlus has been announced now. It's $39.99. So it seems poised to simply replace the old remote on the market.

Not a bad price. I paid almost as much for my last remote.

Well, it seems I was correct. One of Nintendo's announcements at E3 today concerned a gold colored Wii remote with Zelda branding. There's a picture of it here:
