Wow, I never added my two cents worth to this one.

I played IV first. I've tried II and III on an emulator, but I haven't gotten too far in either one. Sooner or later I'll try the original as well. But should I like II and/or III enough once I get more into them, I may go online to see if I can find cartridges since I still have a working Genesis.

I played PSI first, I was 10 or 11. I remember the first time I tried the game, I find it very weird. I sent Alis directly to the field and she died in the second battle. It was my first RPG. But the next day I wanted to try again and this time I understand that you can heal, and you can save. And even more, you can improve your caracter! Too much cool! Now this year I did PSII for the first time, and now I'm doing PSIII.

Played them in sequential order, 1-4, as an adult. Owing to work commitments, I had limited time for gaming. As a result, it has taken me 11 years to complete the series. In retrospect, I enjoyed all four immensely, even PS3 (although I've only played one set of marriage choices, viz., Lena followed by Laya).

Nevertheless, PS2 and PS4 have had the most impact on me, equivalent -- dare I say it -- to some of the classic literature and films I've encountered, in terms of both plot development and characterisation. They are truly remarkable creations.
