Evo 2014 Game Line Up Revealed

The game line up for the biggest fighting game tournament in the world has been revealed, here are the games:

• Ultra Street Fighter 4
• Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
• Injustice: Gods Among Us
• King of Fighters 13
• Killer Instinct
• Blazblue Chrono Phantasma
• Super Smash Bros. Melee (a spot is reserved for Melee but Nintendo must approve first. Discussions currently taking place)

The tournament will take place on July 11-13 in Las Vegas.

Eh........kind of a mixed bag this year. The only games I would really care to watch would be UMVC3 and KOF13. I think last year's line up was much better. No Tekken? Really? Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Street Fighter X Tekken are absent? In fact, there are no 3D fighters at all. I would think that at least they would have Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate since it's pretty new. I will still probably watch it, but maybe just the top 8s.

So what do you think of the list (if there are any fighting game fans here)

I only really watch Smash and Street Fighter II competitively, don't really care for SF IV too much and don't know enough about Killer Instinct, though I'm glad to see it's getting in, I always liked the series. Most of it looks pretty par for the course and contemporary, except Melee, which is pretty awesome. Always good to see a game that's been out for more than a decade still relevant competitively. I'm curious to see how Hax does with Fox, and I always hope Kage shows up, I love to see a killer Ganondorf.

UMVC3 is a game that I'm really bad at, but high level play is just awesome to watch. I do hope that Chris G pulls out the win in Marvel this year, he really deserves it.

I'm not a real fighting game lover but some games can be interesting !
No Tekken ? That's not too bad as I'm not a big fan of this serie (to be polite ! ).
Same about Smash Bros : i can tell that I hate this game but maybe it's because I'm not really good at playing it ?
Ultra Street Fighter IV is great ! And Killer Instinct isn't bad at all.

But what was exactly last year's line up ?

Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Street Fighter X Tekken v 2013, and Persona 4 Arena were all good tournaments last year and they should have returned IMO.

How is Mortal Kombat 9 ? I've never tried it before.

Injustice is kind of the spiritual successor to MK9 (made by the same people) which is why Injustice was included instead of MK9. I've never been a fan of the MK series, so I've never played it.

Last year's line up sounded awesome. Sorry to hear about Mortal Kombat this year. MK9...wow, I really need to catch up. I am so far behind with that game saga.

It's a lot to watch. KOF 13 was really good, a US player name Reynald beat all of the international competition and took first place. It was really exciting.

Welcome my friend ! I've never been a Mortal Kombat fan too This serie is so boring.. and was from the beginning...
