Quriks in Extra Mode

Okay, so I created my own character, right? I instantly notice that Beasts can nanoblast at level 20. I've tried numorous button combination, but nothings seems to work. Has anyone else found a remedy to this problem?

If it behaves like the SUV weapon, you have to get the red bar full and then hold down square + triangle to initiate it.
