What would happen if...

What would happen if you defeated the Profound Darkness on its 1st or 2nd second form before it transforms?

The First form has 8240 HP, second form has 9240 HP and final form has 12999 HP.

When 2nd two forms' HP drop to below 50% they transform. When the PD3's HP drops to 0 the game ends because that's the only form that's suppose to be beaten.

So what would happen if the first two forms' HP drops to 0 before they can transform?

Would you be left in the Edge with nothing to fight? Would the game end as normal? Or... would it just skip to it's next form?

I really want to find out now...

Hmm. I would guess that you'd go right on to the next form (you're not supposed to be doing that much damage!).

I don't have the answer to this one and I'm genuinely curious.

I think the only real way is to hex edit the Profound Darkness's first and second forms to only have 1 HP, then run the game and find out.

If anything, maybe what would happen is the Profound Darkness would automatically get a free turn to change forms before her normal turn comes up.

I'm still curious to this.

Would the game freeze? Would it just go to the next form? Would the PD get to take its go first before you could deliver any damage? Or would the game end as normal with the form you're on being destroyed? If the game would end normally, how would the PD form die? Would it die like the third form, like with it going red and fading away and all those rays shooting down it? Or do graphics for the first two PD forms like that even exist?

I wish I could find out, but I have no experience with stuff like hex editing, and I'm not on a computer or a laptop, so I can't work with the game.

Very interesting question and then topic ! But alas I don't have the answer neither ...but I would love to have it !
For me it'll go on to the next form but I think it's impossible to make so great damage on the first form of the Profound Darkness ! (like someone said it before).

It would be interesting to find out what would happen if this occurred.
