What was your first anime?

If you watch anime, what was the first film or series you remember watching?

My earliest is one of the old shows that were brought to the US to promote toy lines. It was either Voltron or Transformers, but I'm not sure which one actually came first.

I believe it was pokemon. I don't remember why we ever liked it. And it change so much its not even that fun to watch anymore.

I honestly can't remember. I do know that it was on Toonami, though...

The first anime show I saw was the Fatal Fury Legend of the Hungry Wolf movie. I decided to get it since I liked Fatal Fury. I got the rest of the Fatal Fury anime movies, which were much better. Then I got into Record of Lodoss War, and everything spiraled out of control from there.

Probably Transformers, but I never knew it was anime back then.

Robotech on the television.

For movies, it was Akira, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, Project Ako and Record of Lodoss war.

Manga wise it was Xenon.

I feel old. I remember the days when I was teased for having a liking to anime.

Mine was Pokemon followed by Digimon shortly afterwards. But now they don't show Digimon anymore from what I've seen and Pokemon is no longer as interesting as it used to be.

Digimon is shown on Toon Disney sometimes, as part of their Jetix block. At least I think it is; I ran across it there about a month ago.

I always wanted to watch that when it was on TV, but the station in our area that aired the show didn't pick up well. I couldn't make out the show from the static, so I never got to see it.

Probably Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z for an anime series. The first anime movie I watched however was Ghost in the Shell.

Robotech, but back then I don't think much of anyone had a clue what anime was. Actually, I don't even think the word "anime" had yet been coined yet back in the mid 80's.

First anime I ever watched with the realization it was animation from Japan was Dragon Ball, followed by Sailor Moon, and then Escaflowne. All of which aired on local braodcast television during the time frame of mid to late 90's. And then the internet rolled around in '98 and my friends and I learned of "Anime".
