What was your first anime?

Drawn or CGI, animated movies and shows fit well with the gaming crowd.

I'm not sure. I'd say the Unico movies or Belle and Sebastian, or any of the other early animes shown on Nickelodeon. Or maybe it was Voltron. I'm not sure which came first.

I also occasionally watched Robotech, but not enough for me to include it in my list above.

Hmmm. I'd say Transformers but I can barely remember watching it now. :p The first I remember were some olde VHS tapes of Bubblegum Crisis. Those were pretty good.

I really need to watch some more anime. :D

Hmmm... I don't really remember. Probably one of Hayao Miyazaki's movies.

The first anime I remember watching, though not the first, was definitely Remi, based on a book.

It was damn hard to watch for me and tended to get me depressed when I was a kid. Still, my mom put sat me to watch it. Hell, she preferred to let me watch a kid suffer abandonment than robots blowing each other... Kinda ridiculous.

Later, I watched Robotech and some comedy anime. As time went by, I ended up liking the original Macross series better than Robotech and how its universe expanded beyond what it originally was.

Around 96, I got the chance to watch VHS tapes of Gundam Wing in Japanese. Suffice to say I didn't understand ANYTHING except the names of the characters, machines and organizations.

Never was a fan of romantic comedy, especially if it revolves around dumb kids. I prefer interesting plots with political intrigue.

Curiously enough, I am also a fan of silly anime like Saber Marionette J.
