What's the highest level you reached in each game?

Discuss the saga of Algo, where the legend began.

Hm, interesting. I never thought of breaking the sequence to go after Medusa early. It sounds like a hard fight unless you level a lot.

It's mostly luck with the Rope spell. When it lasts multiple rounds, she gets pounded! Of course, my party was so weak that I had to run from all the enemies just to get to her!

As I remember, the first time I played PS1 I didn't find the Mirror Shield and tried to take Medusa a few times without it. She handed me my head everytime. :( I guess I had really bad luck with Rope that day.

Since then, I always get the mirror shield first. I try to get some of the other equipment early, too. I may have to grind more for meseta, but it makes the game longer. :p

Speaking of making the game longer, I was shocked at how short PSI was on my last play-through. It probably only took me 10 hours last time. When I was younger I felt like the game took like 40! (Maybe it did and my strategy just stunk that badly!)

Second time around is always easier as you don't play anymore how you are supposed to play...for instance, first going to Scion because you heard Odin lives there, then to the Medusa's Cave because he's supposed to be there, then find a way to cure him. Nowadays you go to Scion, get the Roadpass, not even look for Odin and go to Paseo straight away to get Myau.

My first time lasted considerably longer since my brother and I drew maps of the dungeon. Nowadays I just use the maps (well online maps since I'm too lazy to get our maps).
"Rolf, there's no hope for me. If Neifirst is dead, I must die, too."
And in so saying, Nei silently closed her eyes.

Yeah, now we know all the shortcuts. I like to wait a long time between playing a game and replaying it, so I can forget as much as possible. It makes replaying feel more like the original experience. It doesn't work too well with some of my more favorite games, though.

I have played PS4 but it's been awhile and I don't really remember what level I was on when last I played. Makes me want to play it again to see what I remember and also to see how much farther I can go now.

PS1- level 25 or 26 (in the Hordes of Nei hack I reached the level 30 cap, but you kinda have to to stand any chance against Lassic)

PS2&3- can't remember, but it was just standard end game levels

PS4- level 99, I got bored at work recently and decided to see what the glitch was all about.

In Phantasy Star IV, I managed to get Rika to about 89.

Also, the PSIV level 99 glitch...

What happens? What does it look like? I've heard so much about it, but I've never seen any pics of it, or any videos.
