I have Marc Cerasini's Godzilla books, some Dave Barry books, "First Men in the Moon" by Jules Verne, several books about mythology, and most recently, "A Princess of Mars" by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I have more books that I left behind in the States, but I won't count those.

Many many things, from classics (James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, Joseph Conrad, Jack London, etc), counterculture books, history books, religion, philosophy, science, sci-fi, drama, etc.

For fans of Tolkien and related books, I'd recommend The Riftwar Cycle, by Raymond E. Feist. A pretty decent series (unfinished yet, by the 30th book).
A person only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear and disregards the rest.
