Water on Moon

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Sat Oct 23, '10, 4:06 am

Water has been found on the moon!!!

Or rather ice, which is water in one form.

And there is a lot of it...nearly a billion gallons or so!

This discovery could mean a huge breakthrough in future plans to try and inhabit the moon one day. Gotta have water to live there.

I'm confused on where the article gets the "billions" of gallons from. My understanding is that the probe, or whatever, kicked up about 41 gallons. That's a lot short of billions. So where does billions come in at?

I think the "billions" is by means of guestimated calculation of the collective potential based on a multiplacation of the surface area that the probe tested.
