Zio's Cult - will it last?

Postby Thoul » Sat Dec 29, '07, 4:01 am

After Zio is defeated in Phantasy Star IV, his cult begins to fall apart as people come out from under his mind control. Some of the more willing members, like that one person writhing on the ground in Kadary, continue to follow the religion. The church in Kadary remains in place as well, not falling apart like Zio's Fort.

So, how long do you think the Cult of Zio will last after the end of Phantasy Star IV? Would it be dead within a year, with the church being torn down? Could the few devout followers start a resurge in the membership, giving rise to a wider worship of Dark Force?

Wasn't there like only 1 follower after he died? XD
Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

Yeah, I think they were under mind control except for that one woman. She probably was already mentally unstable to begin with.

Zio was the one who was to lead them and protect them when the world ended, or whatever they believed. If he's not there what's the point in worshipping him? He failed them, as far as the religion belief goes.

But also weren't the only remaining believers the ones who wouldn't believe he was dead? They probably though he could still lead them.

There seem to be a couple of people who still believe in him. There's the one person kicking on the ground, who knows he was defeated but doesn't care. Another person comments on the towns Zio destroyed being "punished," implying some belief. A few people in Zema seem to still be afraid of him.
