And another recent new album release...Amon Amarth's Deceiver of the Gods! Given it two listens so far, as my brother and I recently exchanged music, so catching up a bit there. But yeah, definitely enjoying this one so far, but still need to give it more spins.

Doing a challenge today of music listening. I'm going through my six favorite albums before the day's end. Order as such:

Sonata Arctica - Winterheart's Guild (power metal)
Shadow Gallery - Tyranny (progressive metal)
Opeth - Ghost Reveries (progressive death metal)
Sabaton - The Art of War (more power metal)
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (progressive rock)
Gojira - L'enfant sauvage (more progressive death metal)

6+ hours of music. Let's see how it goes for this afternoon, as I had podcasts this morning.

I've been listening to regular ol' pop (adult contemporary?) tunes lately. Great summer music.

Uplifting tune about taking time to smell the roses:
Breathe In, Breathe Out, The Afters

Catchy ballad that contemplates loss (not as emo as it sounds, I promise):
Can't Stop, OneRepublic

Upbeat song about... young love and finding your way in the world? I don't know. It's hipster music. But good.
Ways to Go, Grouplove

I failed my challenge yesterday, as I was only able to get through Deadwing before other things started happening and I couldn't keep listening to music for much of the evening.

On the other hand, L'Enfant sauvage is a good way to start one's day!

Gojira's 'Ocean Planet'.

Reviving this topic because I've gotten hold of an album I thought I'd never hear...and I kind of live on the music subforum. Anyway, I finally found a copy of Insomnium's first full length album, In the Halls of Awaiting. I love their other four albums and I'm eagerly awaiting a new release from them next year, as they are one of my favorite melodic death metal bands. But yeah, I was really elated to actually find this and giving it a good listen now! \m/

I have never heard this song but it stirs my interest. I will have to try and find it somewhere and listen to it. For some odd reason I never thought about a rock group such as Queen making or singing a Christmas song, but I am delighted to find out about this. Does anyone know if they (or any groups like them) do any other Christmas type music or songs?
