Soda sales fall

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Thu Mar 22, '12, 11:05 am

Not very surprising that some Soda sales seem to be falling recently:

It seems there are more and more reasons to skip on sodas...not the least of which is there are more healthier options available these days, and the price of sodas keeps increasing, along with the various warnings (which seem to be increasing every day) related to sodas.

Let's take a poll...is your soda drinking increasing or decreasing lately?

If your soda drinking is decreasing, then what are you drinking instead of sodas...coffee, tea, milk, water, or what?

I'd have to say my soda consumption is decreasing over all. It's mainly due to price in my case. The cost of a 2 liter Coca-Cola has risen around 40% in the past year. Now I only buy them when they're on sale for what was the standard price a year ago.

Yeah, it's gotten really expensive. I've cut back for a few reasons.

1)Cost. Here at work a soda from one of the machines is $1.50. That's just ridiculous. I used to buy a pack of sodas and keep them in the fridge at work, but they tightened up fridge use (don't get me started on that, grrr).

2)I've gotten more conscious about plastic waste. We keep canned soda at home and recycle the cans and the cardboard box they come in. I've heard enough about how hard it is to recycle plastic that I'd rather not use it whenever possible.

3)Though I've never bought into all the health scares related to soft drinks, I know that it's still not good for me to be ingesting so many chemicals.

4)A filtered water and ice machine was installed at work about a year ago, so I've been taking advantage of it. It's free!
